Sit down and relax and accept reality and be happy with yourself and concentrate on the present and learn from the mistakes of the past so you won't have further anxiety in the future and live a more simpler life so you won't have so much anxiety, and do physical exercise, it is better to do something productive while doing the physical exercise such as building something, gardening, or etc. so you feel the relaxing comfort and joy after finishing and seeing what you accomplished. And remember that it is often thoughts that others give us that give us anxiety, so we need to concentrate on our own thoughts without developing any guilt for lack of control over some of our thoughts. And last but not least, think of yourself as a person with a destiny and that one day in old age when you are retired laying on a bed, because you can't walk or sit, you will get joy from your accomplishments and following your heart, basically you have to imagine yourself in a movie and that you are the main character and everything you are doing is being recorded in the memory of your mind, so just be yourself and love yourself no matter what says and try to avoid doing whats morally wrong and focus on your dreams and remember that you have a mission in life.

You should look into learning EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). It is very easy to learn but a bit difficult to explain. It has an 80% success rate in controlling anxiety as well as other emotional problems. Here are 2 websites that are excellent in explaining how to use EFT. It really does work.

Bach Rescue Remedy is a natural quick fix that works for a lot of people. Try Cognitive therapy, visulization and breathing excercises to control symptoms in the long term.

Exercise
Meditation
Hobbies

Somewhere in those three or a combo you can treat anxiety. It really depends on how bad it is. If you cannot overcome it yourself, you may have to take meds, but maybe only for temporary? Some are.

Yes there is , Try whistling every time you feel anxious ,or singing,or playing with play dough,or just about anything that will distract you . Is there a choice in your life that you have to make or something your putting off. If so : making up your mind or doing what you need to do will get rid of anxiety .

Yes i have to do it alot and i don't believe in taking medication for it. Just breathe when it is happening and tell your self that it is just anxiety that it is ok. Walk around a little bit for a while. Take a shower, red a book, do something that is relaxing. Just don't think about it or make it out to be more or it will get worse. Me i tell myself that it is just my own thoughts that is creating it that is all and then i pray about it and i am doing much better then i use to.

I have generalized anxiety disorder and I have to say, if you have it, (it controls your life, your scared to do regular activities, and have constant panic attacks) you need to be put on medication and seek help. I can't live with this anymore so I pay 90 dollars a week to see a doctor and take Lexapro. Its a safe, non addictive drug. Its in the class of SSRI antidepressants which means in increases serotonin in your brain. Serotonin makes you have a sense of well being and people with depression and anxiety disorders lack serotonin. You didn't mention how severe your anxiety is, but if it keeps you from going places or seeing people, you need help.

I thought long and hard before getting on Medication. It was the right choice. I do see it like taking insulin for diabetes. My serotonin is outta whack and this helps. Saint Johns Wort is a remedy, but it is pricey and you have to take a lot. I did weeks of research into this. You can ween yourself of these meds, which I plan to do next month. I have been on the lowest amount of Celexa for 7 months have have noted a marked improvement. I also exercise like a madman. eat right, quit drinking and have better sleeping habits. Weigh your options thoroughly. There is nothing wrong with medication. But you have to work also.
