We give ours a 1/2-can of Fancy Feast in the morning and refrigerate the rest. In the late afternoon we give him the rest of the can.
Besides that, we always keep dry food in his bowl so that he has something to eat any time he wants to. For that we use "Natural Choice" brand (comes in a pale green bag, and we can only find it at pet stores, not at grocery stores).

My cats all get Friskies, Aquariums or Temptations treats in the morning as a snack.

Purina Kitten Chow. But, every once in a while if my kitten is good then I will give him proplan or fancy feast meals. Those are soft foods.

i used to give her canned food and found out all the gross by products and leftover meats and hair thats in canned food and quit giving it ti her but she is geting very old and i put her on purina for indoor cats depends upon your cat and what he/she likes and her needs but purina has a line of foods check out.........
