Is it allowed to marry or have sex with a tree.

I don't believe the bible nor the law of the USA say anything about that. Having sex with a tree is essentially masturbation, isn't it? And marrying a tree probably wouldn't be legal becasue the tree couldn't consent or sign a marriage certificate. This is a really weird question.

i don't think it would fall under cruelty but i'm sure it is considered indecent behavior and public indecency at that, the trees being outside and all. they would probably charge you with some screwed up thingy like public masturbation, if there is such a thing.
whether or not you marry the tree would be between you, the tree and god. however the government wouldn't issue a licence for marrage to a tree. you may have to up root the tree and elope with it to a country where you can legally marry a tree, though i don't know where that would be and don't think anyone else would either.

Who is to say that trees don't have immortal souls? They have life and life is mysterious to us humans no matter how much we pretend to know about it.
The problem for me lies in the fact that they don't have the proper interface for human sexual organs, so sex would be a bit sticky. I'll hug a tree and share its 'warmth' but I wanna stop there.
Furthermore they move even more slowly than the teenagers I know; not much good for yardwork, however they might not complain much about the cooking and just think about how much groceries they could carry...

According to George Bush, they have to be of opposite sex, so since most trees are asexual, I don't think it's legal. However, I'm sure you can date and have a long term commited relationship without any of the benefits of being one's spouse (or spruce, whatever the case may be).

In most of the U.S., as long as you and the tree are of opposite sexes, no one will object.

MikeD...trees do too have souls! Every living thing has a soul. Even inanimate elements such as air, earth and water have souls. Stand before the ocean and tell me there's no soul there.

If this is how you feel in your heart and you believe it, Then who can say that it is right or wrong besides yourself. For anyone to tell you what you believe in your heart to be right, is wrong then they have placed judgment upon you.

Well, If you had sex with a tree and it didn't give its consent (which it can't) that would constitute rape and that is a sin in the Bible.

No, because a marriage requires an immortal soul. Trees do not have an immortal soul.
