i think he is a figment of our imagination, that people need something to make them feel less alone, and their lives less random.

in history people look to god and other spirts to explain the impossible like lightning, before Benjamin Franklin, people used to believe that lightning was gods way of warning or punishing people, but now that tecnology has improved we know what it is made from nature, and is completely natural

It all depends on where you are standing and what you chose to believe in. I guess your life was pretty random now wasn't it. Out of all those millions of sperm only one got to the egg. I would say you have better odds at winning the Power-ball lottery if you compare life to randomness. I guess also your not taking into consideration that your parents had to agree to do the act to get you consummated also so that is even more random out of all the millions of people that could have donated to your Mom and the fact that any donor could have passed on a genetic birth defect or your mom could have miscarried with you. Yep I see where you are going with this, heck your mom could have swallowed and you wouldn't have been born. Yep lots of randomness in the world isn't there. You would think that with all this randomness it is quite amazing that anything gets born isn't it. Oh, but wait, there is that little thing called love, and compassion and caring and the desire to give birth. Are you saying those things are random now too? Nah, you were not a random act you were something two people agreed to do because they loved each other and wanted a baby. That's not random punkin. That's life and through God and only God can you get life. There is no test tube in the world that can make a baby without the components of a man and a woman and even the robot scientist extracting the egg and mixing the crap together isn't random.

I don't know if god is real, but either way he is an adult security blanket. Listen to an adult that believes in god. It's always the same thing. Be good or you won't get into heaven. Be good or god will punish you. It's a threat. It's the same thing as saying: Be good or the boogey man will get you.

A lot of adults don't seem to think you can be a good and even moral person without the threat of god hanging over you. If it takes a threat, are you really a good, moral person? This is like the driver who doesn't speed as long as there is a policeman around, or the student that behaves as long as the teacher is watching.

Like I say, I don't know if god exists, but I don't buy that stuff.

God is imaginary.

There is no scientific evidence indicating that God exists. We all know that. For example:

God has never left any physical evidence of his existence on earth.

None of Jesus' "miracles" left any physical evidence either. (see this page)

God has never spoken to modern man, for example by taking over all the television stations and broadcasting a rational message to everyone.

The resurrected Jesus has never appeared to anyone. (see this page)

The Bible we have is provably incorrect and is obviously the work of primitive men rather than God. (see this page)

When we analyze prayer with statistics, we find no evidence that God is "answering prayers." (see this page)

Huge, amazing atrocities like the Holocaust and AIDS occur without any response from God.

I'm not sure I agree completely, there must be some reason in life, maybe a logic God?

I do agree that people might need religion to make sense of their world. What I tend to see is an incredible lack of God in the people that live for his name. I guess you have to be outside the circle to see it.

God is real and a security blanket. The whole lightning thing was mythology. The "gods" not God would strike you with lightening.

God is very real. Just look at nature. Read John 3:16, God loves you very much.

I agree. People cannot face the fact that some simple gases evolved through billions of years to create all we know today. It is unfathomable at a grand level but it is true!

Think about the world's existence and your existence for a second... and then tell me if you still think God is a figment of our imagination.
