i am a student who came to the us through a cultural exchange program and my employer applied for my #SSN.

If you are talking about being a citizen and you lost your ss card. About 4-6 weeks..

Anything else..i don't know.

You can't get social security until you reach the minimum age of 62. You apply for a social security number, way before you are eligible to work. Some parents apply for a social security number, for their child as early as 2 days old
