Beer:
Strong ales, porters and stouts will keep pretty well. They are good for about a year before they start to age and develop a nice, malty sweetness to them. Some people love aged ales.
Lagers, lighter beers, wheat beers and anything with fruit in it starts to drop off after a few months.
Rule of thumb, the darker, stronger, or hoppier your beer is the better it will keep. Key is to store it in the dark at a constant temp. Up and down temps kill beer.
Wine:
It surprises me how many people think that wines can keep forever. They can't. White wines, fruit wines and meads unopened and stored at cellar temp with little or no temp changes (ideal) can be stored for a few years. Most reds can age gracefully if unopened and at the above conditions. They can still go bad after a few years, and the last thing you want is a bottle of vinegar. Once you open it though, you need to finish it off, even if chilled. Wine oxidizes pretty quickly.
If you aren't set up to store and age wine properly, don't. Drink it and enjoy it.
Spirits:
Even liquers have sufficient alcohol content to keep from going bad. You should still store them properly, but they are much more stable than other types.
Hope that helps, cheers.

It really depends on the spirit. Vodka, rum, tequilla and others like them need to be stored corrcetly. Someplace not too hot. As for beer-Yes beer will go bad over time. The carbination will reduce and it can start to taste like the can.
As for wine-Whites are made to be consumed now. Just chill and drink. Reds on the other hand when stored correctly can last decades. Cool and damp is best. About 68 degrees F is best.

;liquors do not unless they are cream based (like bailey's) wine does if opened within a day or two (also, not all wines age well, so just because a bottle is unopened, it does not guarantee that it will be good). beer will go flat after being opened for more than an hour or two (unopened- pasteurized cheap domestic goes bad in a couple of months and good micro or quality beer will last for a good while. some even improve w/age)

beer will stay good for a very long time as long as it has been kept cold. bringing it to room temp makes the hops start to grow then it goes bad. If it has gotten warm then cold then warm again go to the store and buy some more.

Wine, beer and cheapie mixes if not stored properly will go bad quickly. Hard liquor will last in any environment other than high heat for years on end.

You will go bad if you consume it.
If you've already been drinking in your life, stop and take Milk Thistle.
