I'm on a diet. I recently bought a weight loss cereal which is actually for men. One of the ingredients is L-carnatine. I ate this cereal a couple of times already, but now I worry wether this product might have a bad effect on my body, considering the male and female body have different hormones and that the product IS for men only(d'OH). Or is it?

L-cartinine is an amino acid, toted as a weight loss supplement, it is totally safe for women. You consume L-cartinine every time you eat protein. Most supplement's made for men are totally safe for women. I would not take a libido booster made for men though.

A cereal isn't going to hurt you. What is the name of the cereal? Just curious, never heard of a "men's weight loss cereal".

You can always go back to where you bought it and ask them.

I doubt that it would be really harmful but it probably will not yield the desired results as well as one specially formulated for women.
