Im half black an half white and my hair is like a texture in between the two. I chemically straighten my hair with a relaxer but I can't get it to that real shiny look and my roots are still wavy after I relax it. I was wondering if there was anything I could put on it or do to it that will make it look like the black girls on the tv that get there hair really straight and shiny. Help! Only helpful answers please!

Okay sweetie it sounds like your in hella trouble with your hair. What you need to do is first of all try a new hair product line, such as use another type of relaxer like, Soft &beautful, or Surprem (regulars). There very good, trust me. Another thing don't keep changing Product lines every time you get a relaxer. It's not good at all. And as far as flat irons try some ceramic irons form sally's (Tools kind). Excellent! And keep your hair wraped at night.Belive me It will Work. Follow these guide lines
1.Try different relaxer.
2. Keep condition and deep condition every two weeks.
3. Buy new Flat irons
4. keep it wraped at night while sleep.
Keep this up for about two to four weeks and you'll be good to go trust me.

Honestly, in those hair ads, the hair is highly treated weave and not the model's real hair, so that may be unattainable with your real hair. I have had great experience with a line of products by John Frieda called Relax. It is a discontinued line, but you can easily find items for sale on Ebay. Hope this helps!

Use the CHI hair straightening iron. My friend is Greek and has curly hair, but as soon as she used the CHI hair iron, it straightened her hair with one stroke and gave it unbelievable shine (I was shocked when i saw the demonstrator at the store sample her hair with this - the result was amazing). So, I'd definitely use that if I were you (but don't use it too soon after relaxing your hair, processing plus too much heat will cause your hair to fall out).

The only thing is that it's a professional hair straightening iron, so it's more expensive that what you'd find at Wal Mart. (i.e. It costs like $100)

What you can do is use oil, Olive oil to be exact to get the shine and use a blow dryer as soon as you are finished washing it and make sure you condition it also, and start from the roots. If you still have some waves then use the straight iron to hit that up and you should be all good

Maybe you need to increase the time of your relaxer application and or get a stronger relaxer, if you're using mild, it's time for regular and for me (i had the same problem) i went from a regular to a super. Make sure you apply relaxer properly and if you can't do it yourself, go to a beauty salon, watch the types of creams and lotion they use in your hair so that you can repeat it when you go home.

Hope that helped.

DO NOT USE CHEMICAL STRAIGHTENERS...i am half blk and wht. just like you and my hair and i use chi..you can buy it at a salon or online..it is the best thing...they are like 120 but it is the best investment ever..just let ur hair get all wavy and straighten it..it will be shiny just how you want it

yea i can understand how you feel...i'm mixed as well (black n filipina) but my hair is no relaxed...i think the mild relaxer is fine because you most likely dont have any naps...just make sure the person that is applying the relaxer is doing is evenly...also its a good idea to get a flat iron to smooth out the roots
whatever you do...please no weave...you dont need it!

so do u want ur hair to be like a white girls hair? or striaght and shiny like an asian girls? black girls on tv (like BET) usually get their hair to replic a white or asian girls hair style, and ofcourse they touch it up a bit more n bit some spice in it!

whether u like it or nor, you're half black. It's never gonna be as straight as a white girls, your best bet is to get a weave or buy a wig!!
