Before you bring a dog or animal into your life, reseach, research, RESEARCH! As a shelter volunteer who has seen too many people get animals at the spurr of the moment and them dump them when they're too much work for them, I cannot stress this enough. Pets are for life, so serious consideration must be taken. Make sure you have enough time in your day to spend training, socializating. If the the pet is sick, bring it right to the vet, don't bother logging onto Yahoo!Answers.

THANK you for posting this Q!!!! If I see one more posting from a kid who wants a dog as an ornament because some celebrity has one, I'm going to puke! I thought it was bad enough after 101 Dalmatians!

You are so right! I got a weimeranar from the local shelter about a year ago because she was so pretty, but I had no idea how much work she would be. I still have her and love her but if I knew how much exercise and constant attention she needed than I probably would have chosen a different breed.

One of the few "non questions" I will not report.

Thanks to you for caring.
