If Pope Benedict ever came to my city, I would be interested in hearing him speak to hear his viewpoints on religion and Christianity and also meeting would be interested in meeting Pope Benedict XVI as well.

Yes I would. I'm a practicing Catholic and I believe he is a wonderful leader for the faith. I like him even better than Pope John Paul because I think he's a modest decent human being. Most of you who have commented need to be more respectful of faith in other people which is an American human right. By disrespecting Catholics you are showing that you are not good Americans either.

Not at all. I was so disappointed that a white pope was chosen. I was rooting for the south American, and if not him I would have been happy with the African.

Either one of them woiuld spark my attention very easily, By the way, I am of European descent.

The Pope is the representant of Christ here on earth. That is what his title (Vicar of Christ) means: He "takes the place of" Christ here on earth. Not that he is God. He isn't. But he received Authority from God. Whoever loves Christ and seeks to do His Will here on earth would jump at the chance of hearing the Pope speak. Our Lord Himself said so about His Church: "He who hears you, hears Me". The choice is ours though. We are completely free. Do we choose to use that freedom to reject Christ and His Vicar here on earth, or do we choose to embrace them? May we all receive the Grace to make the right choice.

Who cares what he has to say?

He is just another two bit dictator and former Nazi.

Might be interesting to hear how he feels about Jews given his upbringing as a Nazi.
