How is it possible to insult the supposed creator of everything in the universe? Such a being would be as far above humanity as humans are above ants and could never be offended or insulted by anything we say or do. The deity that Christians believe in, however, is constantly insulted by everything and everyone, sending floods, famine, plague, and disease, cursing people with war, burning their cities with fire and brimstone, and threatening to send people to hell if they don't bow down to him all the time. If it pleases Christians to worship a sadistic, tantrum-throwing jerk, then I will continue to question their beliefs.

If you know someone who insults God, he is not an atheist.
Given your claim you are an atheist, how do you insult God?
Isn't that similar to insulting the Easter Bunny?
Christians depend on being persecuted to support their claim of being "real Christians." When you persecute (insult) Christians, you are helping them be better Christians.
They should pay atheists for insulting them, it is a necessary part of their cults.

Aethists cannot insult God - cause they dont believe he/ she exists. Now one cannot insult enmpty air, can they?
As for those who believe in god, if these guys take their belief to their bedrooms and let it remain there, then it would be OK, but no, believers have to ensure that everyone else also becomes one.
Its like if you are infected with flue, an you decide to go out and infect everyone else, do you think you would be respected?

Those people who shout and push their agendas ahead of the rest of us just like to hear the sound of their own voices.
They are 95% of what is wrong in America today. They cannot accept that others are not bowing to them and listening to their rants. Almost everyone else just wants to live their lives in peace and harmony.
Of course, that goes for radical religious people just as much as radical atheists. Neither side can prove anything, until they die. Then, who cares who was right anyway?

I believe that believers are very touchy because their entire belief system is based on fantasy. Deep down inside them there is some recognition of this fact. They have so many reasons for wanting to remain believers and having a reality check pushed in their faces is very hard for them.
My experience with them has been that any aspersion cast on their belief system causes angst and is interpreted as an insult.

I don't insult God. I disprove him. This can be seen as insulting to a lot of theists, but that can't be helped. Religion is a cancer on society, so I'm doing my best to cure it. I agree that people can believe whatever they want, but not when they vote on issues that affect me, and their decisions are based on their insane beliefs.
Now if you want to take away voting rights for confessed theists, then I could live with that. Until then, yes, I will continue to smash their delusions until their eyes finally open.

Most people don't like being reminded that they are wrong, and admitting Christians are right is admitting that not only are their beliefs wrong but that their way of life is sinful.
So they show nothing but hatred to hide their own guilt.
It doesn't bother me;I feel sorry for them.

well i agree with you (an atheist also)... people have the right to believe what they want to and our beliefs are no more relevant than theirs (even though we don't agree with it). All people should adopt more tolerant attitudes to other faiths and just stop being so touchy lol and remember what Voltaire said "though i do not agree with a word you say, i will defend to the death your right to say it."

Because many xians are trying everyday to have their agenda pushed down my throat. To ban abortion, morning-after pills, HPV vaccinations, gay rights, etc... So they have lost their immunity from criticism and ridicule (if they ever had one which the crusades and inquisition and even hanging of jesus n the cross would preclude).
And it p**** me off when they tell some woman in the pregnancy section who asks if abortion is an option that god gave her that baby. It ENRAGES me to read that shite. What about the women who can't get pregnant? What about those who need expensive and extensive medical intervention to get pregnant? That is highly insulting, condescending, and idiotic. So I vent my spleen at those xians, yes.
