I am a Christian and I do not judge homosexuality. I don't attack people for their beliefs. I have my beliefs and they have theirs. They may not be the same but to each their own. I am a very giving an loving person. i work in health care so i do in a way help the sick and weak. I can't help the poor much because I am poor.
Most Christians I know are good and decent people and don't attack others. I know some do, but they are not the majority.
I think for myself and I use my free will how ever I want to use it. I am not brainwashed, I am enlightened, in my mind anyway. I do agree some Christians are borderline Cults. Some people take it to a bad place and that is never good in anything. I am a very liberal minded Christian, but I am a good Christian.

I think most of them aren't really interested in attacking homosexuality itself, but rather the political agenda of particular groups. Most folks (MOST, not all) could care less what's done in the privacy of people's homes, but when you start talking about classifying it as minority status, incorporating certain things in required public teaching curriculum, etc, people tend to get more up in arms.
I also think there's a polemic reaction when someone is called a homophobe or a nazi or whatever simply because they disagree with a legislative agenda. When people come at you with that attitude (your question itself at the very least borders on that mentality), often a common reaction is to withdraw from any constructive argument.
It's an inflamatory issue, perhaps even by design. A good test of that theory will be the reaction to this question and the answers. We'll see...

We don't attack, merley protect society from it,
You don't see the child molester trying to make his sin acceptable. you don't see the man commiting adultry tyring to get it made acceptable.
So in general, they know they are doing wrong and are convicted in thier heart.
The homosexual for somereason think there behavior should be accepted and even want it taught as a way of life in shcools and more.
So that is why they are much more danerous than many of the others.
And they do help the sick, and the poor and the other things, but they are not being judgemental, the bible already judged that behavior and found it offensive. Christians merley point out the error of peoples way to convict thier hearts to their evil so they may be saved from it.

Who knows? I don't get it. I don't sit around and think about what "bad" things people are doing in their bedrooms. I don't care what 2 consenting adults are doing.
But, I think a lot of this has become so outrageous due to the political agenda. It was never this bad till it was used to gain ratings... and a new election. After the election, the talk kind of died down in the media. The most I see it talked about anymore, is when it's on here or in a chatroom. Some have become so obsessed with it. It's really amazing they function in the real world.

Well, it seems as though many of the questions about homosexuality and the biblical standards that we hold regarding it, are initiated by those who disagree with us.
As far as helping and giving and all the other things you said we should be doing instead, I find that hard to do on-line, but do participate at a food bank and soup kitchen from time to time.
We are called to be salt and light. We are here to not only show God's love, but also His holiness. We really don't want to see anyone go to hell because they are deceived. We suffer much ridicule, and receive tons of ad hominem attacks for our stance. But that's okay by me. My Lord suffered much more, and gave me an example by which to follow.
I most assuredly do not enjoy being slimed in here. I would rather read a book. But, for whatever reason, I accidentally discovered this site, and am better able to research apologetics by participating in it, than by reading it in a book.
UPDATE: Kudos to Fr. Chuck! Excellent answer!

It's the only way they can do a power grab, it's all about power and exploiting popular prejudice, in this case the prejudice against gays.
Hot-button politics is what it's called and there is a bunch of fundamentalist guys who want to do a power grab in the Christian church right now, steal control away from the liberals, so they pander to popular prejudices...it's easy enough to see and they aren't fooling everyone... but they can fool enough people to get away with it if what they are doing is not exposed often and repeatedly.
These silly people who talk about a gay agenda, equality is a pretty reasonable aim but it is the Christian agenda that is resisting equal rights for gays...
It's your gay kids who are going to be in school excluded from proper sex education remember...gays are not a seperate species and it doesn't do to try to dehumanise them and defame them...anyone can have a gay child and most families have a few so please stop kidding yourselves and try really hard to accept human nature and that gay is actually a normal human sexual variation caused among many other things by our genes, hormone levels in the mothers uterus and by social and family conditioning...just like everybody else, none of us can control or choose these or our sexuality and it is asinine to insist we do.

Let's not get carried away now. I'll admit that people who are "very" religious tend to be strong in asserting what they think is right and wrong. And they are entitled to their beliefs, just as gays are entitled to their lifestyles.
Both sides go haywire when they think the rest of society should change to their beliefs and accept them as "normal".
In many countries in the world (read Islamic countries), homosexuality can get you thrown in jail or killed. So I wouldn't want to characterize what happens in America as cult-type behavior. Other than listening to some people blow smoke, Americans have a lot more rights than others around the world.

Oh so misguided children, Yours is not to judge one another nor place titles on humanity. God is the only judge and his messengers have already been sent and forged was the written word to guide all souls but you have failed. It is not the job of the believer to go amongst the world and place your own opinions unto man, nor is it your job to express the written word by your own translation. You are not messengers of God but children, your only task is but to praise God and use his words to enlighten your own heart, not used as a sword to cut your brethren. Your only responsible for your own house and not the house of those who do not walk your path. God will judge your house alone for that which you have maintained your own soul. You will not be judge by others sins but by your own. God does not need you to speak his word by to use it for your own good. No two men will understand the written word the same that is why it has been written in such a manner. The sins you see and understand are your sins and none other. The sins others see are their sins and are not yours. What maybe a sin for you will not always be a sin for another for God will only judge each man for what he knows in his heart and not the knowledge learned by other children.

The only reason you are chosing to target homosexuality is b/c you are a homo and we arent going to say.."Oh sweetie..its okay God loves you just the way you are" We arent going to sugar coat your sin. Just to clarify homosexuality is not the only sin. Get a life.. try to rid urself of sin. I am doing the same!

What flowerkid said.
I am a Christian and I just so happen to be giving money to help the poor and the needy and so on and so forth. Homosexuality is the least of my worries right now. Quit judging me. I didn't judge you.
