A megachurch is usually a term for churches with more than 2,000 people in weekly attendance. The average church has less than 100 people in weekly attendance. They are also characterized by a more modern worship style and are typically Protestant rather than Catholic.
You can find more on this as well as a list of megachurches at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megachurch
