Well, you've told her it annoys you and she continues to talk about the ex. The next time you get together ask her in advance if she's going to talk about the ex. She'll get huffy and offended, well that's her problem. But you know she's going to talk about her ex so make plans to do something else so you're not with her. But if you do hang out with her and she does it again, walk away like you didn't hear her. Give it a couple of times and she'll figure it out. And if she doesn't tell her she can pay someone to listen to her. It's called a therapist.

She needs to talk it out but not all the time. Try giving her time limits to talk about the ex when you are with her. Then talk about other subjects. This will help to point her in the right direction and away from the ex. Hopefully soon she will be spending more time talking about other things. Try to keep her mind occupied with other thoughts.

change the subject constantly, if that doesn't work, use a single response every time she talks about him. Like...."my BF used to, " your response every time should be Chicken fingers don't really come from chicken hands, nor do I think Buffalo's have wings".

She should get exceptionally tired of that by the end of the night!

Good luck

How ex is the boyfriend? If its a new breakup just be a friend and listen to her. If it has been a while tell her she not a good friend to you. Or just say I know you hurt but as your friend it hurts me because i cant help you so please don't talk about him so much because you make me feel bad because youre hurting so much.

Tell her that you dont mind if she talks about it sometimes to vent but she doesnt need to overdo it.. and that you are getting sick of hearing about it all the time. I had my friends tell me that when I was going through my divorce. It didnt matter how much I talked about it.. it was so hard and it didnt seem that it helped me at all even when I did talk about it all the time.

cut her some slack, let her release all she needs but don't encourage her to go around in vicious circles, refuse to give your opinion on this and say you don't know what to say... reply automatically to her comments about him.

More than saying it, SHOW that you are really not interested in all that... she will realize she's boring the sh*t out of you! and move on to more fun subjects.

Just tell her that you are really tired of it and for her to continue like this only makes him feel better, because he hurt her!

you should just tell her that she needs to move on and stop talking about him..but you should be more understanding about her situation, i mean if she just brok up with her bf then shes obviously not over him yet then
