Because if she were in the wild she would be keeping her den clean...Dogs dont like to live in poop so shes being a good mom and doing her job,Sheis keeping her pups in a clean healthy enviroment.She will quit when they start eating solid food good and can poop further away from their bed

when the puppies were born she should start lickin their butts it helps them to poop and once they do she eats it to keep them clean it's a mother dogs instincts, they all should do it if they don't then somethin is wrong and should be taken to the vet. but if she is she's doin what she has to do b/c if she doesn't lick their butts then they won't poop as easily as if she had.

This is what she has to do for them for the next few weeks. Basically it is her job. Puppies do not always know what to do when they need to go, especially when they are that little. She does this to stimulate the puppy so it does go, and she feels it is her job to take care of it. It is normal!

This is a female dogs way of cleaning up after her puppies. She doesnt have hands, so must use her tongue to clean and bathe them and around them. If you watch her move them, she uses her mouth for that too, cuz no hands!

little puppies arent housebroken yet, but ur dog is. she knows that its her responsibility to clean up after her pups, and eating it is the only way she can. u try cleaning up the poop or housebreak the pup.

Newborns can't eliminate unless they are stimulated, which the mother is doing by licking.
As they get a bit older, she will probably still clean up after them for awhile.

Dogs eat all kinds of nasty stinky stuff. It's just like broccoli or spinach the worse it taste the better it is for you!

Mother dogs do this for their pups during the first days of life. It keeps their "area" clean.

it just that mother do that to clean it up..cause we are mother we have to clean the baby bum by washing it..well dog are not humans and can't do the same thing we do..so think about it that way..when they get a bit older..take them away or sell them and it should stop hopefuly
