Ashamed? Hell no! And to those who say you are, I say the following:

Look around you - what do you see? You say you don't like it? Well maybe it's time for a change then! Let's put on our traveling shoes, and I'll give you a choice of where you would like to move to. You can pick any country in the world except for the following: The UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. Pick ANY COUNTRY other than those I just listed, pack up your bags, and get movin'! Your going TRAVELLING! Now all you have to do is live within your new country for, oh lets say, 3 years. Thats plenty of time to integrate into your new surroundings a bit and "see whats up". I guarantee you that at the end of your three year stay you'll be ready to come on back home to the good ol' USA!.

What kills me about most of these folks here in the USA that spend SO MUCH OF THEIR TIME AND ENERGY ON HATING THIS COUNTRY, is that many of them have never even been outside of this country, and have NO FREEKING IDEA how the rest of the world lives. SO, now is your opportunity to get the heck out and find out for yourself.

Otherwise what you might want to consider is trying to find something GOOD about the USA, or if you must focus negatively, then work on ways to make POSITIVE change. Bitching dosent accomplish much.

- = BORDERS - LANGUAGE - CULTURE = -

I get the feeling that you are fairly young and have fallen pray to the Liberal media and are confused to what patriotism and what this country actually stands for.

Patriotism is NOT dissenting because you do not like the current state of the government. Patriotism is supporting your country and troops as much as possible to get the dirty deeds of war complete and not show this outward dissent which does nothing but empower the enemy. (We learned this in Vietnam)

There is NO other country better then this one on the face of the Earth. Europe is put on a pedestal by the Liberals. I am not sure why yet, because there is nothing there that is better then here. Heck, they think we are the best place to ever be.

My suggestion to you and all others who think as you do. Read HISTORY! Learn your US Civics. Read the constitution, not accept what the left says it is. Do not accept ANYTHING ANYONE tells you are fact without reading and verifying yourself first!

to a certain extent, i am ashamed because of what our leaders are doing. i am ashamed because other countries are threatening the USA to run test missiles to this country, and the fact there will be more terrorist attacks on us whether iit is here in the states or over seas. but i am not ashamed to be from this country

No. Instead of being ashamed, we should do our share in order to help this country.

Love your country. It's the only place you live in unless you are rich enough to migrate in another country. But even then, you have to abide by their laws, which, to say the very least, could be so less democratic than ours.

I live in the richest, most powerful country in the history of mankind. This country offers the most freedom and rights of any country on earth.

I don't see what I should be ashamed of. Success? Happiness? Freedom?

not ashamed.. disappointed in what we have become or represent.. but shame,, is too harsh a word... once you have visited countries outside of the united states. i still say we are the best... and i am proud to be an american. we arent perfect.. but we aint those other folks either. if you have never left the usa... then you have no right to criticize. if you dont vote... you have no right to criticize. GOD BLESS AMERICA. we get back,..to what we want.. if we stick together..
