A passport is issued by the country of your citizenship and allows you to travel overseas. A visa is sometimes required by countries you are visiting (e.g. where you are not a citizen) to allow you to enter the country

a passport is a document showing you are a legal resident of a country. A visa is a document showing you are allowed to visit or live in another country. Often a visa is a sticker you put inside a passport. Whether or not you need a visa or passport to travel to another country depends on where you're from and where you're going.

A passport is the document that allows you to travel to all foreign countries. A visa is an additional document required by some countries that they grant for a pre-determined length of visit. You also may have to be scrutinized more for the visa.

I think you just need a passport. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe a visa is for staying somewhere for an extended period of time, or while you're waiting for citizenship. While a passport simply allows you to cross the border into a foreign country for a vacation, or visiting.

A VISA is permission to enter a foreign country....a passport is permission to leave your country and go to another. Some countries (like China) require you to obtain a visa before entering their country. Others (like England or Canada) do not. Best to check on the U.S. state department site for info on the country that you are planning on visiting. If you are working with a travel agent, they will tell you. Or if you are a member of AAA they can tell you if a VISA is required as well.

You always need a passport. It's an ID document that your country gives you. A visa is a document issued by the country you wish to visit, that grants permission to travel and under what conditions.

It depends on the country. A passport is usually good for a short visit of a few weeks. If you want to stay longer than that, usually it requires a Visa, which authorizes you to live in the country for a short time (for work, school, etc...)

Probably both ... visa is permission from the foreign country to enter it. But they will also require a passport, and you'll need a passport to get back into your home country as well.

You need both. Your passport proves your ID, a visa is a stamp in your passport that shows that the country you are visiting has said you are allowed in and how long for.

depends on which contry you are going. as someone said above, passport is your ID. this is a MUST to go abroad. (unless you are in military or have some special reasons).

Visa is a permission to stay in a country. if it's just sightseeing (not for business reasons or study) you don't need a visa in some country.

ex. you don't need a visa to go to Japan for sightseeing but u do need a passport.

where r u goin?
