Personally, smirnoff black label is rather kewl. It's not the typical product and has the advantage of having a high enough alcohol content that you can put the bottle in the freezer without it freezing, just achieving the perfect chill (Russian winters require a certain distillation I guess).
If you're into flavoured vodka's another personal favourite is the Absolute brand, who do everything from pepper to blackcurrant flavoured vodkas. Saves on the mixers I always feel!

Vodka is simply a neutral spirit where all of the smell , taste, and colour have been removed. A perfect Vodka would be pure ethanol 40% and distilled water 60%.

Potato vodka. Most vodkas available in the US are distilled from grains, not potatoes. Blue Ice is a brand I have tried before and enjoyed very much. There are other brands out there as well, but a lot are imported from outside the US.

all we can do is to appreciate the finer vodka's that are produced in search of the perfect one...

grey goose or absolute vodka are the best. Smirnoff is triple distilled but grey goose and absolute are distilled more and this makes them the better vodka's. Smirnoff is good but the cheaper the vodka the worse the hangover.

Vladivar Imperial Gold Vodka would be one of if not the best I've tasted.Its about 65% and really smooth to taste.

To get the PERFECT vodka, simply put it in the freezer.
SoOoOOoOoO good, and as vodka don't freeze you can still shoot it!
Gives a good kick!
