I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and we have never been to a cafe or restarant, He isn't romantic but he cooks everynight but he also enjoys cooking, we sleep toghether and he cuddles me so that's ok but when I watch programs on tv that he dosen't like he will really put me down and tell me im getting sucked in.
He dosen't hold my hand when we go for walks, also he works all day and Im at home, I do all the house work and when he comes home Im usually sitting by myself in the lounge while he dose the rest or the housework when I have already done it! When It becomes bed time and Iam watching something on tv he complains he's tierd all the time when it will be only 10.00pm.
I ask for something and he complains about whatever I want like It could be anything.
I try talking to him about all this and he keeps saying he dose the right thing by me.
Why is he acting this way?

You cant really change a man, so you have to figure out if u are willing to live with his behaviour . If the answer is no, then maybe you should find someone who is more compatible with you. But sometimes women enjoy the bad treatment even if they complain about it. Decide what u want, and not why he does what he does. You may never find the answer to that question!

Trust me, you need to forget this man, and move on.... I have been divorced now for about 9 years, but at the time of my divorce I was in the hospital for an emotional/nervous breakdown, and still taking medication to this day... all because I was with a man just like you are with.

Eventually, the put downs get worse and far more often.
And then you will start to believe what he says about you.
Before you know it, you have a very low self esteem, you feel ugly, unwanted and trapped. I loved this man dearly, but I know now that if he had loved me - the way I loved him - he would have "never" treated me the way he did.
There was no pleasing this man at all, and there never will be for you either.

I learned my lesson the harsh and hard way, please take my advice and get out of this relationship now.
If not, then start NOW standing up for yourself, defending yourself, and never, never, ever believe the put downs he voices about you.

Well atleast you are trying to communicate. Sounds like you're boyfriend is a slight agoraphobic (fear of the outside world) take a break, and realize how much you need each other and if it does not hurt, y'all need to do serious talking before anything else.

The guys tired. He is in a groove now. He does the same thing everyday. You have to spice things up if he won't. Show him how to have fun again. Don't worry. He will come around.

sounds like he is stress
suggest a vacation or you can plan something romantic for him, and suggest that it'd be nice if he can do that for you, but say it gracefully
