I had resistant dandruff that would not respond to anything over the counter, until there was Niazoral (spelling?). You can get it at Walmart, or whatever. It's a little more pricey, but works great! My dandruff is under control and I use it once to twice a week to keep it that way. It's in a box and is in a blue bottle. Great stuff!

See a dermatologist. It may be psoriasis and not just dandruff.
If you have determined that it is dandruff only, using the astringent Seabreeze, on your scalp, is wonderful. It makes it feel great and it also has an agent in that actually gets rid of the dandruff for several days and sometimes up to a week. I use it faithfully and it doesn't ruin my hair either.

This may sound strange to you but hear me out. When listerine was originally put on the market for sale it was for the control of dandruff. When it was discovered that it was good to gargle with to kill germs; and that more people would gargle than had dandruff; it was changed to a mouthwash. Just rinse with listerine as an inexpensive and reliable dandruff control. If you can lay hands on a 1939 issue of LIFE magazine you can see the listerine advertisement for dandruff control.

I had problem dandruff and scalp itch - look into Omega-3 supplements. They help with all sorts of problems, including dandruff.

If you have access to dry cow paddies, you can soak one in water for 24 hours. Then rub it into your scalp for about twenty minutes. It works in India.
