Some x-ray machines ruin camera film. They usually have signs saying if the particular x-ray will or will not ruin the film. You can always ask the person handling the bags if they know about the x-ray or ask people in line with you to see if they have had the same problem.

Modern X-Ray machines do not affect ordinary film, only X-Ray film and some other more obscure types of film. Look for signs before the X-Ray machines to see if they make any recommendations, or even ask before you put it in.

Not to be rude but invest in a camera made in this century. For like $100 or less, you can buy a digital camera that only film cameras that cost thousands of dollars can match in quality.

Take the film out of the cannisters & put everything in a clear baggie. Ask them to hand inspect the baggie and film. Always carry film w/you & have it hand inspected to prevent cumulative damage due to x-rays. Have fun!

The x-ray should not harm film unless it is a high ISO rating. most common film is 400 or less which is fine.

Keep your film with you in carry-on and put it through the metal detector when they tell you to. That's a lot less powerful than the one they put standard luggage through, so it won't damage them.

Have fun!

I heard only 800 speed and above can be affected by x-ray but I always just have them hand check it
