he loves dogs his size but is a little jumpey.

If he's jumpy, the answer is defenitly yes. My aunt has one and she is the wildest thing ever. As in running back and forth nonstop hyper. To get a new dachshund is a great idea for a jumpy pet.

Dachsunds love to be social!! getting him a friend would be great for him, especially if you're away from the house alot...it'll keep him from getting lonely. As for the jumpiness, that'll go with age... but unless it's causes any breakage, I would let him be.

Definitely ! When I was growing up we had 2 weenie dogs and they were inseperable. They were outdoor dogs and when one of them died, the other grieved and seemed sad and ended up being an indoor dog
