I guess considerable is an amount that you should consider, but significant really makes a difference...

only in a person's own mind or if you insist the meaning of the words significant would mean an amount that would cause or signify notice as being large or small & considerable would mean an amount that you think is large or small

Considerable only refers to amounts, meaning a lot.
Significant means enough to make an impact, a result.
