You need a really great Recipe Book, there are some out there that only require 4 ingredients to make a delicious and healthy meal, go to a really good book store and have a look around.

I'm a grandma who also worked in a restaurant for some time. It takes time and practice to learn the art. Sign up for newsletters from About.com (they have several different cooking newsletters to chose from) and Martha Stewart's website. Midwest Living has one too. Just get in the kitchen and remember to use fresh ingredients and keep your kitchen and equipment clean. And remember, have fun!

What kind of tips?

To become a good chef, you must have a lot of passion.

You must be prepared for not only long hours, but also weekends and holidays.

It's not a question of money or social position; it's a question of love......it's a love story..........LOL

I am a chef who is slacking off because the week of 4th is kind of slow. Everyone gouged themselves on overcooked burgers, cheap beer and pork rinds.
