My hair is about shoulder length and naturally wavy/curly, but not a wearable curley/wavy, more like a frizzy, unmanageable wavy/curley. I usually just flat iron it, but I'm looking for a way to style it for a special occasion without going to a hair dresser. Whats a nice way to do your hair for a concert/ girls night out. If you have a site with pictures then cool, if not explanations are just as good. Thanks!

Glamour Girl
1. Part hair to one side (whichever one looks best on you).
2. Add a curl-defining product to enhance waves, while letting hair dry naturally.
3. Section off large portions of hair and curl hair at the ends with large-barrel curling iron, starting in the back and working your way to the front.
4. Use your fingers to separate curls, creating a loose, tousled look.
5. Rub a dime-sized dollop of shine serum between your palms, then apply to your hair, starting at the back and working your way forward.

1. Add a curl-enhancing product to define waves. Let hair dry naturally.
2. Gather hair at the back of your head.
3. Loosely French-braid hair, starting from the middle of your head.
4. Use a hair tie to secure braid at the end.

1. Apply a curl-defining product to enhance natural waves.
2. Part hair to one side and separate into two equal-sized sections.
3. Pull each section into a low ponytail, secure with an elastic band.

4. Fold hair in the ponytail underneath and pin, creating a loose bun.

Sounds like we have very similar hair, although lately I have been cutting mine shorter so it doesn't take as long with the flat iron. My suggestion would be to buy Aussie hair gel and Aussie Freeze hairspray. Put the gel on when wet and spray the hairspray on after the gel. Use a difuser on your hairdryer and as you are drying your hair keep scrunching the ends up. Continue putting hairspray on occassionally as you dry. When you are finished drying (oh, dry with your head upside down) flip your head up and then spray some more. Now you can use a teasing comb and tease a bit if you want a little more body, but don't over do it with the teasing. Good luck! I hope it works out for you!

A messy bun is a great updo for curly hair. It's easy. All you have to do is tie your hiar up...and then wrap it into a bun. Take a hair pick and pick out strands. You can leave two strands in the front and curl themw ith a curling iron. Decorate with a flower and a hair tie of your choice.

A french twist may be another good idea. Tie at the nape of neck. Twist the hair upwards. Clip with clibs and bobby pins. Very elegant. Also decorate with flowers.

You're not suffering form anything abnormal; everyone's hair needs some help.

From what you described, I remembered how some woman with that type of hair had a special look. It was special because they wore it well. That had to do with the attention they gave it. Using some gel or something of that sort to relax it, and leaving it take its natural form could be the trick. Of course you leave it take its natural form but you help mold and shape it where you feel it needs it.

Enjoy the concert; so don't tie your hair up too much.

Get a taming gel, and do half-up ponytail. Use a curling iron to control a couple of stray curls to frame your face. Or, pull all of your hair except the loose tendrils that you want to leave down. Or, try braiding it. Even curly, it turns out really cute. That's all I can think of right now.
I'll try to add a site later.

Well, if you never left it curly. This may be the time but use alot of condition so that it takes out some frizz. They have this leave in conditioner called infusion. You can spray it on and run you fingers through it. Great, summer look.

You can get great info at naturallycurly.com. I only have slightly wavy hair so unfortunetly most of the info doesn't really apply to me, but it IS a great website.
