The radical religious groups (like those running the US right now) are literally trying to bring about armegeddon. They honestly believe they are so righteous that they need to bring about the end of the world so all the "bad people" can be judged, and "they" can be rewarded. They believe it is there job to force others to believe and practice as they do so those "poor, ignorant" people can get into heaven too. They are sticking their noses and bombs in everyone's business trying to stir things up.
I agree, western values, for all their talk about family values and all that, don't show any evidence of walking the walk. All religions of the world that I know of (mainstream ones that is) teach harmony and peace. Anyone who uses religion to kill others or try to force people to change their way of life does not know or understand God or religion. Real belief is about surrender to the higher power, doing what is right, and loving other human beings. That is beautiful.
Let me turn the question around to you... what do you think makes eastern cultures so sucessful on family matters? What do you think of the patriarchal system?

Christians are bound by their religion to try to convert other people as in doing so they believe they are saving others from eternal damnation in the fires of hell. While the United States, a nation with one of the highest concentrations of fundamentalist Christianity, suffers from its own problems, this is more due to the fact that Christians, especially fundamentalist Christians, have a hard time living up to their own religion's ideals. Gandhi once said that the only reason he didn't become a Christian is because of how Christians acted. In the end, I think it's more important to judge the person rather than their religion, and each person no matter what their religion should strive to be the best person they can be. This is more of a cultural issue, especially in America, than a religious one.

This is more than one question. The first question incorrectly assumes two things cannot be done at once. Christians try to convert non-Christians in the West as well as in the East.
The second question incorrectly assumes that all in the West are or ever were Christians. This is obviously not the case and hence my point in the first paragraph.
The third question incorrectly assumes the longest standing practices are the most educational or valid. Sin is even older than eastern religion but that doesn't mean we should all go out & do it since it's stood the test of time.

look at the east :bombings, murders, beheadings ,so very beautiful. Hatred of others. Oppression , religious hatred Muslim against Muslim!
Whee are these beautiful cultures, where there is no rape?, no fornication? Where the rich don't walk all over the poor? Show us your exalted home free from debauchery!
I especially want to know why eastern men treat their women with such utter contempt and degradation! Violently enforcing their version of the male machismo/ape man syndrome.
Fool!, true Christians have self-control, and would not ever entertain the thought of doing any of the things you mentioned, or any of the things your so called "beautiful culture" has to foist at us.

Not all westerners are Christians. However we as Christians have what is called the 'Great Commission.' As Jesus was ascending into heaven, in the book of Matthew, he said, "Preach the gospel unto all the world." In the book of Mark he said, "Preach the gospel unto every creature." These are but two places where He, Jesus, told us to spread the word. The word gospel means good news. His rising again on the third day is great news to me. How about you, do you know him? Would you like too?

Only the very sad/scared/deluded ones who still believe in old fairy tales about "God/Gods" are doing it.
Stand up to them!
Tell them you are not scared. Tell them, “I am one smart Ape and I know that one day I will be nothing but dust, but until then I will live my life the best I can.’
If that doesn’t work, then just throw things at them until they go away.
PS all that stuff about rape and multiple partners, don't knock it til you've tried it :)
