The leaders of the church wanted to church to continues.

It has not been too long ago that the death rate during childhood fell in such a way that it did not take many children to just make up for the ones that were going to die. So they wanted a lot so there would be a few to continue the race and the religion.

depends on what kind of birth control u mean? religious ppl dont have a problem against birth control pills i wouldnt think, abortion as a type of birth control yes, big problem

I don't think they have a problem with birth control. i believe the problem is with the women and men having guiltless, care free sex. With whoever and when ever they want. And using birth control for their anytime pleasure. Its all about me huh?

Some have a problem with having sex for fun based on the silly shame some faiths put into that natural act. If they can't have it for fun, they don't want anyone else to. They want people 'punished' by birth for having sex.

I don't have a problem with it at all. I only have one child who is now 21. I was on the pill for ten years and had a tubaligation after that. I do however have a problem with single girls having babies and looking to the government for support.

that is the best question yet. When god told us to multiply and fill the earth, he didn't say and then keep having babies until you damage all the resources and ruin the earth.
