6 slices bread
1 cup cream
4 eggs -- well beaten
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon -- mixed with
1/4 cup sugar
***SAUCE***
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 large can evaporated milk*
1/2 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

*I use 1 pint half-and-half.

Pudding: Break bread in large pieces, place in baking dish. Combine all ingred
ients and pour over the bread. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over top. Dot
with butter and bake at 375° F for one hour. This is best served warm.

Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook, stirring, until thickene
d.

or:Bread Pudding (easy)

8 slices of bread (cubes)
1 cup sugar
3 beaten eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp butter
1 Cup raisins (optional)

Place bread in a casserole dish. Mix together the rest of the
ingredients. Add raisins. Pour over bread and stir until coated.
Bake at 350* F 45-60 min. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or
syrup.

Bread Pudding

An old-fashioned bread pudding with cinnamon, eggs, milk, bread, raisins, and sugar. Scroll down to see more bread pudding recipes and dessert sauces.
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 cups milk
* 4 cups cubed or torn stale bread
* 1/2 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg
* 2 eggs, lightly beaten
* 1/4 to 1/2 cup raisins

PREPARATION:
Heat the milk just until scalded. Place bread cubes in a bowl; pour hot milk over bread. Cool. Add the sugar, salt, nutmeg or cinnamon, eggs, and raisins. Pour mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish.

Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until set. Serve with a dessert sauce or whipped topping.
Serves 8.

Honey Bread Pudding

Serving Size: 8

Ingredients:

8 cups egg bread -- cubed
1 cup raisins
3 cups 2% low-fat milk
1 cup evaporated low-fat milk
6 eggs -- beaten
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Arrange bread and raisins in bottom of lightly greased shallow 2 quart baking dish. Beat remaining ingredients in a large bowl until well blended.

Pour over bread cubes in baking dish and let stand for 1 hour, or until liquid is absorbed. Bake at 375ºF for 45 to 50 minutes, or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.

Bread Pudding. (1)

Two coffee cups of grated bread crumbs, 2 cups granulated sugar, ½ cup butter, 1 quart new milk, 6 eggs, and 1 cup blackberry jam. Beat all together, put in pudding dish and bake lightly. Take from stove, cover the top with jam, and then meringue with three of the whites and enough sugar to make it stiff. Brown in the oven; eat cold with hard sauce.

Bread Pudding. (2)

One cup of stale bread crumbs, 1 pint of hot milk, 1 teacup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon butter, ½ teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon mixed spices, 3 eggs, 2 cups of fruit. Use currants and raisins, chopped apples or peaches. Put in buttered pudding mold, and steam 2 hours. Serve hot with sauce.
