sex is important..yes but what about getting to know someone, friendship and real love? there are other things in a relationship more important than sex if you want a long term mate. understanding, trust, love, and being able to have sex with just one special peson you found is very important. less disease that way. be carefull and real!! or don't call it a relationship!!

Sex is a part of most relationships but you can have a life time relationship without it. Having that closness with someone and having the trust in them to experience new things is a big key. You must bulid a relationship from trust,open communications,love,understanding,comprimise....Yes sex is bigger to some but there will come a time that it's not as important as who the person really is. If your relationship is based off of sex..then from experience it's not gonna last

It is because sex is like a drug, it makes people high. There for people believe that even if all they have is lots of wonderful sex then that high will get them through everything else. You will also notice that for the most part this assumption of sex as the most important thing is put forth by the younger age groups. This is because they have not experienced much sex and it is seen as a mystical thing that has been kept from them. It is also because they have lived such a short life so far they don't see the value in the other parts of a relationship and don't realize that they will grow older and that sex will to some degree not be the end of their lives and may even become impossible to maintain at what they think of as a normal sex life.

Because people will put up with alot of crappy things in their relationship but if the sex is bad they will walk. Good sex makes up an arguement, Good sex brings two people closer when everything else looks like it is going to s***. Sex is a big connector plain and simple

I agree with you that there are more things that are important in a relationship like friendship and love, but most people show this by being sexual....

Well it sounds like you are asking why do MEN think it's #1 - and the answer is because to us it is our greatest need relationship wise. I know it sounds self serving -- but it is tue - there are a ton of studies, surveys etc tht prove the truth for a man his #1 need is sex.

Sex is only a BIG part when they have nothing else in their relationship. I know so many people who have been in relationship and all they do is have sex, sex and sex. But once you take that away...what else is there? If there's nothing, then it wasn't a real relationship.
