For the first person who answered, yeah, labs aren't mutts, if they were, they'd be your dog, they are better.
anyhow.
I would but him in the paper and or the iwanna, an ad like this.
For stud only:
Labrador retriver with good bloodlines, Reg.
I would charge $300.00, if he is reg. if not, mabey 200,
I love labs, I have a black one but would like to get a choclate one soon
good luck

There are many, many good stud dogs to choose from, especially in a popular breed like a Lab. I assume if you want to offer him at stud, he is a finished champion? Then get him out and special him, get some BOBs and group placements, and then advertise him in breed publications.
If he is not a champion, then good luck. There is no reason to use yours instead of the very best champion stock when it is available.
You do realize that when you start to use a dog that he will probably exhibit male behaviors such as marking territory and will become much harder to handle? If your dog is mainly your pet, he will remain a much better pet if he is never used.
BTW - the owners of the bitches go looking for a stud dog, the stud dog owners do not go looking for the bitches

If your dog isn't a champion, most people won't and shouldn't pay you anything. Have his hips been x-rayed and certifed by the OFA to be Excellent or at least Good so that he doesn't pass on hip dysplasia? Have you taken him to any shows and asked an expert whether he's good enough to breed?
Don't be surprised if your dog starts pissing in the house, mounting the kids or the couch pillows and being snappier once you start breeding him. You should be going into breeding to improve the breed - not to put a few bucks in your pocket. Take a trip to the local dog pound and watch them put a bunch of dogs to sleep just because no one wants them or they can't walk...

Enter him in some dog shows or filed trial, obedience trials take your pick - half the exibitors & 2/3 the audence are on the lookout for nice males so if hes good they will find you. PS If they ask & you havent done the helath checks (hips, eyes) they will loose intrest fast.

I would wait till he turned 2 years old then have him x-rayed and checked for hip dysplasia because it is common in larger breeds.

Please check out these links before you breed your dog:
http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/articles.html#breeding
http://www.wonderpuppy.net/breeding.htm
http://dogs.about.com/cs/breeding1/index.htm
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/dogs-faq/breeding/
Please reconsider; there are many, many homeless Labs out there that need a home and there. The responsible breeders who are breeding do not breed often and do it only for the betterment of the breed, and only the most outstanding examples are bred.
