Let her scream....it is up to you and her parents to protect her. This could mean taking her back of the couch 1,000's of times.

Because of her age I don't think she is going to get seriously hurt. Sometimes you just have to learn from example and find out that falling off the couch can hurt. And if she falls, tell her that she is ok and don't always hold and cuddle her because then she learns that falling is a good way to get attention.

sounds like you are already doing what you can, good job big sis. Just keep telling her that she can not jump on the couch. You could also put soft stuff around the couch when she is playing. Good luck

When she tries to do something like that, pick her up and look her straight in the eye, and say, "No, that's dangerous, and you can get an owie." Or something along those lines. After a while, if she continues this behavior, try putting her on a time-out. She'll get the message sooner or later.

Say something to your parents. My son used to jump off the arms of the couch onto the cushions and would give me several heart attacks a day. I finally had to spank his backside so that he would stop.

it is normal for a child this age to be a risk taker.. but yes they will need guidance from parents.. loving siblings like yourself to make sure they are doing it safely.. you can find other options to her play and high flying acts.. like at a tot gym or even making your own games up that will give her a thrill but keep her safe... what a good sibling you are to worry and want answers.. I do hope your parents are there with you guys to help too. look on parental websites for more educational ways to have fun..good luck and god bless you and your lil sister.. o and yes from her age and up.. they will not like being told no.. of course there has to be no's in this world for her ..but at that age you can find a compromise to offer her while your saying no.. it helps to distract her from losing what she believes is her control..but by giving her an alternate choice she then will see she does have some control..good luck

Theres no way to make a 14 month old sit still. Keep her away from tables with sharp corners, but...if she does fall she'll learn not to do it again.

Just watch over her and if she falls catch her. She's learnign to explore and needs to explore a little. You can also cushion the floor with pillows, blankets and bean bag chairs just in case she does fall.
