if the number s of passengers flying to the usa have dropped since 9/11 why have the fares doubled allowing for extra fue charges

I've found that when you book 8 or 9 months in advance you can get great bargains on flights to the USA.Just depends on Destinations and times of year.

I know, isn't that crazy, and some airlines have even filed Ch. 11 You would think that they'd drop them ugly prices. I've been trying to find something decent to travel to MI and if you want to be comfortable and catch a direct flight from west to east USA you'd be paying 350-400 easy!

higher fuel costs, new airport taxes to help pay for all the extra securit and less people flying means a bigger percentage being passed on to the consumer.
