There was a horrible fraud in the presidential election in Mexico. The victory was given to the conservative candidate (his name is calderon and his nickname is "fecal" which means "****"), which means that the flux of 500,000 illegal immigrants that come from Mexico to the US every year would keep steady. Do you know that before the presidential period of vicente fox the number of illegal immigrants coming from Mexico annually was about 100,000?. All the above means that the poverty in Mexico increased with fox and that will increase with the new president then we will have more illegal immigrants coming.
Even though the 3rd richest man of the world is a mexican (his name is "carlos slim" a man of arabian ancestry) and there are few others billionares in Mexico, there are millions and millions of poor people south of the border for whom their only hope is to come to america. Is time for us americans to help the mexicans to defeat their corrupt goverment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think there was fraud, the international observers all seemed satisfied. In fact they were holding Mexico up as an example.

However, I didn't realize there was an official recount yet.

Yep, you're right. Calderon won. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060706/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/mexico_elections_87;_ylt=AgNfveIaxpzrl9NFLr0AfZIdl.0A;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

Well, that's what a lot of americans were frankly afraid of, which is why no doubt the fence-building will now go twice as fast as before. I don't think choking off cross-border trade COMPLETELY is the answer here, but ratcheting things down a few notches and preventing people from crossing illegally into the United States will be a Great Start for Mexico learning to face, and then solve, its' own problems instead of just exporting them to the US....

Let them sort it out. But do you really want a socialist and anti american president running Mexico? One of our largest oil suppliers. He will may make matters worse but probably nothing will change much. Who Said evn the most ardent revolutionary be comes a conservative the day after the revolution. Just be cause he calls him self a sociallist you have to remember he has support from people with money so things will go the same corrupt way they always have there.

To those that say its BS & such...obviously you are one of the brainwashed masses of our Country who can't think for themsleves.

The fact of the matter is the election in Mexico was rigged by the same lobbist company that pulled the election for President Un-Elect Bush. What, you don't believe me that is was stolen...just do a Google search for the Governmental Accounting Office's (GAO) report about the stolen 2004 election. Better yet, here is the lin kso you can read it yourself: http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d05956.pdf

Links about how the Mexican election is to be stolen written by Greg Palast:
http://www.rense.com/general72/ffront.htm
http://www.rense.com/general72/eyeds.htm
http://www.rense.com/general72/ddoe.htm

From the current total of votes in Mexico, Calderon only won by a marginal 0.5% or 1/2% equal to 200,000 votes. They just found 2.5 million votes that were dumped that were in favor of Obrarer. Here is the link for the story: http://www.narconews.com/Issue42/article1962.html

Then with the ruling party blocking a recount: it is pretty obvious to anyone with a brain & critical thinkig skills that something about the election is not right.

I wouldn't be supprised if this is the hair that breaks the camels back in Mexico. The Mexican people need to rise up against their oppressors, just like American's should do here, to reclaim their Country for the People & not fascist coporate interests.

As per the comment above that we should stay out of that person's country's issues (who is obviously a Mexican): all I have to say is suck it! Mexicans & other illegals come here to MY COUNTRY, STAGE PROTESTS IN MY STREETS, DEMANDING THAT MY GOVERNMENT GIVE THEM A HANDOUT & MAKE THEM CITIZENS FOR BREAKING THE LAW! GO TRY THAT IN MEXICO! YOU'LL SEE THAT YOU'LL BE SHOOT DOWN LIKE DOGS! FORIEGNERS ARE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO WORK IN MEXICO VIA THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RULES, WHY SHOULD WE TREAT THEM ANY DIFFERENT?

But then again, all of this is being done so we can all be future good worker bees in the coming World Government, aka New World Order, as slave wage earners. The first part of the plan is to unite Mexico, USA, & Canada into an "American Union" complete with a super highway to cut our Country in half. The NWO's plans can't be fulfilled if a leftist president is allowed to govern Mexico for the people & not the corporations. Think about it!

Fraud? Are you saying Obredor is a better candidate. Isn't he the one with connections to Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Cuba's Fidel Castro? The Harvard educated Calderon appears to want to continue in the good graces of the USA, wouldn't you say? Otherwise, why do we want the likes of Hugo Chavez at our backdoor? Whose side are you on? Mexicans will go to refugee status, then what?

Excuse me, but there was no fraud on the sunday elections. They were clean and transparent, there could've been a fraud on the campaigns (due to tha fact that most of the media supported Fecal) but election process was very good.

nicely, in case you could tell me which between both applicants, Calderon or Obregon, has connections with Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Fidel Castro from Cuba, i components you with my American impressions, as to which candidate is extra acceptable for the united states of a. which will be a extra acceptable reason to have concerns as to which candidate is Mexico's president. can we'd like Hugo and Fidel as associates? do not imagine so!

Yeah, you might as well build a fence, because Calderón is only gonna get the rich richer, and export all the poor to the U.S.

People are actually going to/or are, protesting in Mexico City, they are going to count all the votes again, one by one. I hope it helps, because I really don't want Calderón as my president...that shiny face-corrupt-brainless-thief!
