Something I was always thinking about. Does anyone ever realize how many people don’t tell the people they have sex with that they have a incurable STD? Such as HPV, HIV, ect.

Anyway, I was just joking around one day and OBVEISULY this will never happen but I was thinking, How would the transmission rates of these incurable STDs go down, if you had to get a REQUIRED (by court order) tattoo on a possible place you could contract that virus (of course you would have to be tested and test positive on the test). I'd make telling your screw buddy a lot easier wouldn't it?

And for the people that say I'm an ***, I have HSV -1, so I would have it tattooed on my FACE.

Goodday has in interesting point, although it would be against the law (remember EoE housing and employment, HIV counts as a disability) to discriminate against that employee.

That would be a good protection IF you knew for sure. When you are tested for HIV you have to return months later to make SURE the test is accurate. So you could be carrying the disease prior to finding out. Therefore, that won't do a lot of good at the time. Another issue is people are still a bit nasty SOMETIMES about the disease and it could keep a person from getting a job or a place to live. That would be unfair to them. People who are testing positive for HIV now can live another 3 decades with the proper medication. I don't personally have it but I try to keep myself "in the know" for some odd reason. I'm married and don't have sex on the side or anything but it never hurts to be knowledgeable about things, right?

While I do agree that if someone knows they have something, they should speak up, let me say this. #1, a lot of people don't know that they have these diseases. HPV for instance can lie dormant for years & will usually NOT show up on an STD test (it only will if ur showing symptoms). #2, a lot of people are scared to death that if they tell people, they will never find a lasting relationship, which for some people is scary. By the way 80-90% of sexually active people have HPV & most don't know they have it.
PS- Not everyone is that dishonest
