Around 325 CE. It was compiled by the Council of Nicea at the request of Constantine. there was much debate..even as to the divinity of Jesus. Those "books" rejected by the Council were destroyed (or at least attempted to destroy) as heresies.
In a sense sad, but smart. Christianity was a religion in search of itself at the time and needed a dogma, so it got one, but a lot was left out. You can find these now in the Nag Hammadi Codex and the "Gnostic" Gospels.
The results are what you read today, depending on the version. The King James version was comissioned by James I or II of England for the protestant churches.

God used 44 bible writers over nearly 6 thousand years to produce what we now call the bible. In early years it was individual texts written to various churches as letters and earlier texts were held as scrolls.
All the materials were extensively copied very carefully usually by Monks attached to the Catholic church.
when the printing press was invented and many copies found their way into the hands of the people, the church stepped in and cleaned out what they felt was not part of the bible.
After the clean out divisions got going and many splits occurred causing the differing beliefs we have today. The devil's work is in the divisions that were made. He also had a hand in removing God's name from the bible. Also in the addition of confirmation text to prove the Trinity which most recognized as false.
There are many versions available, but the "New World Translation" has proven to be the most accurate.

It's not important when it was "assembled". It's only important when God opens our eyes to it.
The first 'Bible' was the stars that God put in the "heavens". The Zodiacs are the original story of God's plan. But men have perverted it and changed it into something satanic.
The 2nd Bible was the Great Pyramid. God's Bible in Stone. But it too has been perverted.
The written Word has also been corrupted...but only by the interpretations of carnal-minded men.
This is why it's not important when it was physically assembled. But only when God reveals it to us.
For this is what Peter had, when Jesus told him, "flesh & blood has not REVEALED this unto you". And upon this ROCK did He build His Church.
The ROCK is not the physical Book. Neither was it Jesus, the flesh & blood man. Neither was it Peter (as erroneously taught by the Vatican). But the ROCK is the REVELATION (of who He really is), that God gives ONLY to His Elect, born again Believers. His true Church.
God bless all that seek Him in Truth.

4th Century. The bible is roughly contemporary with Aesop's Fables.
The various books that consitute the bible were written by about 40 men over the course of 1500 years, though. Few of the books of the Bible specifically name their author, but some which do paradoxically describe the authors death in their text(!). Neat trick.

The old testament (OT) existed in its current form as far back as the time of Jesus. The new testament was officially assembled a bit more recently, when Catholicism was the official religion of Rome.

which edition of the bible are you talking about? if your talking about the original, i think around 100-200 AD. if your talking about the mass-production of the bible, then its the same time the guttenberg press was developed.
