i was hangin out with a friend the other day and she asked if i wanted to go to lunch and a movie on friday w/ her. i always thought we were just friends (even though i like her) but is this considered a date?

Don't look at it as a date. Just think of this as two friends having fun together. If she likes you, you will find out in time. But don't worry about it, just have fun. When you are looking for love you won't find it but when you think there is no chance of ever finding true love it will hit you like a ton of bricks.
