Yes- the young men and women who fought in Viet Nam and are fighting now in Iraq were both sent to fight an immoral war- an invasion of forgeign soil- launched into by a greedy government that had nothing to gain, except money, form the deaths and mainings of our soldiers. And just as the Viet Nam vets came home wounded, emotionaly and phyiscaly; and in many cases unable to readjust to "normal" society again, so will the Iraq War veternans.

You are insane, the Vietnam war and the Iraqi war are not like each other in any respect, except that liberals would rather America lose so they can gain some power for themselves.
We are winning in Iraq, we have secured over 80% of the country. The remaining parts are be slowly controlled as well. The terrorists own communications show that they are losing ground every day and cannot keep this up.
We will win in Iraq, of that I have no doubt. We will watch as a new muslim Democracy grows as a shining example to other islamic states. The middle east will slowly but surely turn into a world member rather then a world enemy.

Your wrong, the only people that lost the Veteran war were our leaders. Our young men were drafted to go to Vietnam, they lost their lives, their minds, their love of their life and their own people tuned there backs on them, the American public were the cowards when our Vietnam Veterans returned home, mostly in the western part of the country. The men and women of the Iraqi war joined the military and serve theirs & our country with Honor and dignity just like our Vietnam Veterans did. So if and when our troops come home no matter what our government decides to do will you be one of those cowards and call our troops baby killers.
The biggest cowards of the Vietnam War were our government , store owners and educated college kids that were to F in coward to join or be drafted, and some of the same government officials of the Vietnam War are running our government today

I'm sorry, As I recall, we pretty much obliterated the Iraqi national forces... with hardly a shot being fired... I wouldn't call that losing.
What else...
As an Enduring Freedom vet, we are usually a whole bunch younger than the typical Vietnam vets...
My wife isn't a Vietnam Vet, but she is an Iraqi Vet.
We will not be losing the war in Iraq, there is no war in Iraq, just a bunch of misguided muslims who think that things like running water and electricity are too dangerous to have, so they don't want to bother letting us build either of these things.
Also, the Iraqi insurgents hate us for being a christian nation. The Vietnamese hated us for not being communists.

I don't totally agree with what your saying but I would agree that Vietnam vets and Iraq vets have one thing in common. These brave young and some not so young men and women served their country well the rest of you live comfortably in your communities. And when these brave men and women come home what thanks do they get? many come back wounded both mentally and physically. I can understand that some people are against the war but why isn't more respect shown to the soldiers? there not the politicians that started the war.

I sure hope you are not talking about the American Veterans. They fought hard for what they were sent to do. It may be wrong on one hand but on the other it is right because they are doing what has been asked to do, what they joined to do and that was to fight for all of the Americans. And you should be proud of them as the rest of America!!!!!!

McCain as president, may be the anchor for our efforts in the international defeat of terrorism. The left is so squeamish about staying in Iraq that they concoct outright lies that Iraq needs us out when we've come so a techniques and executed a lot. Why may they prefer us out, even as the surge is operating. it should be glaring to all that Iraq does not choose the U. S. to go away till the pastime is complete.

So nice to see you haven't changed your tune, Mr. Former Military. Yes, I know who you are, even though you changed your name. You know what lost the Viet Nam war? Of course you do. Because I've told you many times already, and you still won't get it through your thick skull: People like you "lost" the Viet Nam war for us, and people like you will "lose" the war in Iraq for us too. Congratulations.

OF COURSE not. no matter how terrible conditions are in iraq now, the vietnam vets were truly fighting a war that was bad, unwinnable because of the politics involved.
the vietnam vets are really true heroes and its a pity that we've lost some of that generation

They both risked their lives for other people to know what freedom is like. They are giving possibly their all so that others may live freely. Hopefully the returning soldiers from Iraq will avoid the shameless cowards that think their effort is for nothing.
