I take it that you mean the one that causes you to put on the least weight when drank regularly. That being the case then I'd have to say Cider. In it all the sugar has turned to alcohol and unlike beer it contains no wheat or hops which cause weight gain.

I'd a cousin who is a Jockey and they all seem to drink it for that reason. They cant afford to put on weight when they are riding.

There is none. Look for the one with the least calories, but you may have to drink a lot to get drunk - and that is a stupid idea. When you drink is just as important as what you drink. If alcohol is drunk in the morning you can burn off the calories it gives. If drunk at night when there is likely to be no exercise before going to bed, it will end up as white fat and increase your weight but do it unhealthily. It is best to avoid alcohol if on a diet. I do not understand why people are so besotted with alcohol or other drugs. It is addictive, a toxin, and it can cause mouth, throat, stomach, and bowel cancer, as well as liver failure and diabetes. It also contributes to heart disease and strokes. The results can be devastating, especially with mouth cancer where the bottom jaw can become so damaged it has to be rebuilt, and in throat cancer which can destroy the larynx, leaving you with no voice. Alcohol is also a silent killer. It becomes a deadly poison when people drink too much. These outcomes are a high price to pay for consuming the stuff and no-one is immune. I've seen the damage it can cause, and it's not a nice sight. Alcohol is one of the major problems in street and domestic violence, it wrecks marriages, and it can lead to the life of a 'plonker'. Besides all that it makes you put on weight. 'Beer bellies' and 'well-stuffed hips' can been seen every day. Obesity is yet another cancer risk. Sure. If you get cancer the brewing industry will stand by you - won't they? If they do, why have they fought every inch of the way to avoid regulation and paying compensation? I can assure you, all those who have suffered cancer because of drinking have bitterly regretted starting the habit. If you are wise you'll avoid the stuff, and will be healthier and wealthier into the bargain. If later in life your health suffers because of the damage caused by alcohol (e.g. cirrhosis of the liver) then don't say that you were not warned.

Alcohol itself doesn't have any fat...so no regular alcohol, such as vodka, gin, rum, will be fattening. Alcohol does have a high calorie content though, ...like 100 calories per shot. What you mix with it is where you can get the fat from. Liquers are loaded with sugars so they have a lot of carbs...as do beers. So if you are watching your carbs be careful there too. If youre watching fat specifically...go for a mixed drink such as vodka, or rum with a diet soda. You will end up with just the calories from the alcohol and it tastes better than a shot. If you are watching calories...you are better off bypassing the alcohol altogether and saving your liver a little trouble!

I take it you don't mean a mixed drink, so apart from diet-varieties and spritzers/shandies, the best least fattening alcoholic drink is a dry white wine.

I really don't know which would be the least fattening but I think a gin n' tonic ( on ice with a slice of lemon ) would be very light on sugars.

Gin and slimline tonic... add a slice of lemon for taste.

I'm lead to believe this is just 1 point on the Weight Watchers diet table...

...a pint of Baileys is 90.

Guiness is truly good for you - 120 calories, low fat - but I believe Vodka is the least fattening.

Alcohol is empty calories, so it is very fattening.

White wine mixed with water if you must.

I know a friend that is on the low carb diet and they drink whiskey and water. But actually, any alcohol will cause you metabolism to slow down. So any alcohol will inhibit your diet.
