Does ANYONE on here honestly, really believe, beyond ANY shadow of doubt that women were created from one of Adams ribs?

So how is it then that we KNOW AS FACT that in the early days of pregnancy, the embryo is female and then becomes male, hence why men have breasts (and no use for them) because they are one of the first features to form before the change!
Many of you mention the word 'FAITH'.Faith is what you cling onto when you dont have any credible evidence. If God was proven to be fact tomorrow, you would all drop the word FAITH like a hot potato!
Ive yet to hear of anyone taking another persons life in THE NAME OF ATHEISM!
Atheism is the only hope this world has of any chance of peace. I respect people and do good things because its the right thing to do, not because i am scared to do otherwise for fear of what God will choose for me in some next life!
Thats not to say atheists dont kill people!

Well, Adam was in teh garden, adn he was trying to find a mate, but none of the animals were good enough. So God told Adam that he would make the most perfect and beautiful mate Adam had everseen, She would cook and clean, submit, be a great help, and be the best mate ever. So Adam was very excited, and asked what would it cost. God told him an arm and a leg. Adam said, "What can I get for a rib?"
No, totally Joking. Every word in the Bible is true. God took one of Adam's ribs and made woman out of it.

No. If God made all the animals and they had to reproduce then he had to make both male and female of them right? So why wouldn't he have just made male and female of us? That just doesn't make sense. He would have obviously known that he would need both in order to make babies then why wouldn't he have made both of us? And if he is all-knowing why did he wait until Adam was bored to make him a women? He would have known from the beginning that he needed a wife. And why did he need a rib anyway? He made Adam from scratch are women that much more complicated? (don't answer that) So no. I don't there are way too many contradictions there. I think it was simply a way for men to justify their feelings of being better than women back in the day. And it has carried into the present.

Yes, I do. I think if you look deeply into it, it explains a lot about sex. I recently read something interesting about this that I never realised before. Some of the original Hebrew is really difficult to translate into English. In Genesis, God said, "It is not good for man to be alone. I shall make him an "ezer kenegdo." This is translated into English as "helper," but it actually means something more like "lifesaver/sustainer alongside." Ezer is lifesaver or sustainer, and kenegdo means someone who stands alongside. Pretty awesome.

While I can't help being fond of that whole "woman created out of man", woman being servant of her man thing, it would shame me if I actually believed it was anything more than a scriptural attempt (by the men that penned it) to gain more control over women.
By the way, if god made women out of Adam's rib, wouldn't men have one less rib than women? Did you believe they do? Why don't you actually check (try not to tickle), you'll discover THAT'S a myth, too!

I believe, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that everything in the bible is exactly what it says it is .... given by inspiration of God.
Therefore, if the bible says that God took one of Adam's ribs while Adam was sleeping, and created woman with it....that is exactly what God did.

Yes: I DO!!
As a Christian: if we did not believe this...how could we say we believed anything else?
You can not pick and choose what you believe or don't believe from the Bible as a true Christian: it comes as a job lot!... the good, the bad, the strange, the miraculous!!
We may not understand & comprehend it all: but that's where faith comes in!!
