The majority of the people who live in Mexico don't have the resources to "fix it up".
What exactly is the root of the problem? I don't think they care too much

Well,if you heard a commercial on t.v about good jobs that pay well and cheap, but decent housing and good cars for cheap that was all in mexico, wouldn't you want it too?All you'd have to do was jump a fence or swim a river to obtain a better life for your family.Especially if you couldn't find work here and your kids were hungry.
Now,mexico doesn't advertise commercials like that, but word of mouth is pretty strong. Why fix something broken, when you can get somethin new so easily?

The country is so corrupt it is going to take a huge movement to fix it. Anyone who the "police" believe to do anything against the government end up dead. This is a country where if you get pulled over for no reason at all the cops give you some crappy reason for pulling you over and as long as you have enough money on you nothing happens even if you've just killed someone! It is so much easier to come to a better ran country and try your best to support your family.

I think it's starting! With all this fraud in the elections issue, people in Mexico City are going out to the streets to march and protest. That shows that the people now are taking iniciative to change things, I really hope it works.
Julie: what you said is not true, we're not lazy. As in any other country, we have the lazy ones as well as the hardworking people.

You always seem like an intelligent personality, yet your questions is rhetorical in nature. Sounds like you are reflecting; your question encompasses such a huge clean up act of cultural political corruption. The answer probably lies somewhere in the same place where we ask outselves why has our government permitted the mass illegal immigration.

They lack Strong Leaders.
The Leaders who help them here--could care less about Mexico.

give'em a break buddy!!
let's seal the damn borders and give those who are already here a guest worker program after a criminal back ground check. if they were ever convicted with a crime then they should be deported on the spot. other than that i think the good and honest deserve a second chance to adjust their immigration status.

They are too lazy and they would rather take the cowardly approach and the criminal way. That's more to their liking. They love to do things that are illegal.
