I read that there were signs of sexual assault at the crime scene and that makes me think that a male commited the crime. I have always wondered about the brother. It makes me wonder if the parents don't have some idea who commited this horrible crime.

I don't know if one of the parents did it, but I've always felt they knew what happened and were not forthright and upfront with information. She took that to her grave. I hope the father will have a conscience and fess up to what he knows so this child can truly lay at rest and in peace.
My gut has always told me the scenario went something like this:
Jon Benet told her parents she didn't want to do the pageants anymore. I think it bothered the mother tremendously and she told Jon Benet she was going to do them anyway. Jon Benet got really upset and probably told her mother she hated parading around and just wanted to be a normal little girl and not take over where her mother left off. Patsy really didn't like that and let her know by beating the crap out of her in a "rage" because she felt like Jon Benet "spit in her face". When Patsy realized what she had done, tried to "cover up things" and make it look like probably a strange man had committed the horrible crime.

Wow, I didn't know the mother was dead! I will tell you what the universe tells me as far as who killed the girl: I don't think the parents had anything to do with it directly. The father might have had some bad business deals with some very demented people indirectly and that is how she came to be discovered by someone who was looking for revenge and happened upon the house and all its inhabitants. The person who was looking for some way of getting back just happened to have a problem with children also. There are many wolves in sheep's clothing out there and you will never know a killer walking on the streets even if he bumped into you! Killers come in many different shapes and sizes.

I feel that the parents were involved, and that the mother had the key role in both the killing and the coverup.
I just don't understand how the father stood by after his wife murdered their child. If my spouse hurt my kids, it would all be over for him.

I think an intruder who was probably stalking the family or knew a family friend or co-worker. The intruder probably knew the family was leaving for a party and saw the family leave. The intruder probably did just want to kidnap her and hold her for ransom but the plan probably backfired so he killed her.

in my opinion I thought her parents did it. it is just to bad that no one has been punished for such an evil act. I feel so bad for Jon Benet.
