tell you parents they are supposed to set a good example about tolerance and the inner beauty of all people - say that is what you expected of them, which i believe all parents should teach there kiddies. if u r over 18 tell them also to mind there business is you're younger it is still in part there business..

Years ago, when my grandparents married, people didn't even want their children to date people who came from a different European country than the European country they came from. We've come a long way.
I don't know what culture you are from, but people from some cultures still want their children to date those from within the same group. Many disregard their parent's feelings, and date and marry the person they love - but some still won't dis their parents (even grandparent's).
I'd say that there are so many 'disposable' marriages going on, that people who fall for each other should go for it--they may never fall (that much) in love again.

Race goes so far back and its hard to get a parent to understand a teen when it comes to race. Most likely ur parents parents told them what was right and wrong in there time and dont know how to change. Racial profiles it sucks. I had the same problem in my home and I decided that if I love this person and what to be with this person then do it. Your parents will see that ur happy and learn to love him too. Time! Thats all u need is time!

People have a hard time with dating out of their race. It's just how they were brought up. Give them a little slack. Maybe they will come around. Just remember it's hard for them..

Because they have either been taught to be this way or because they are buying into cultural stereotypes and not thinking for themselves. The guy should go out of his way to prove that he is worthy of you and your parents should be told to judge him by his own merits not culture.

Because they are ignorant! Some people are brought up that way, and I am glad their ignorance hasn't been passed down.
Its a hard situation to deal with but you have to learn to accept that it is them with a problem not you. You have to live your life your way and they will just have to accept it whether they like it or not.

some people just dont let go to traditions good or bad. Its their lost because their missing out on a great person.
anyway if you realy love your boyfriend then the dirty looks they give you shouldnt matter.

It all boils down to fear and ignorance.
They are afraid becuase they are worried about what others think. I have dated men of different races and to me I don't see race. I check the quality of their character.
