We've known each other for 2-3 yrs. She and I used to work together and kept in touch but just hung out as friends. We're both single.

You have to test the waters first, in a not so obvious way. Joke around about you two getting together- pay attention to her reaction. If she's flirting back even a little, you may have a chance. But chances are if she isn't acting interested, she's probably not. And if she's not- don't even bother, it will just make the friendship uncomfortable.
My long time friend confessed his feelings for me, and when I didn't return his feelings, he got so embarassed he barely talks to me anymore.

it just depends really, maybe she's looking for a perfect guy of her own, maybe try talking to her more and do things for her now and then, if you share some interests that would really help, and going for walks too, walking together can bring out conversations that you can't usually speak around other people you know, well if you still work together, maybe go out to lunch together. probably after knowing each other so long, it might be hard to bring up something to chat about, but if she's a bit shy around you, that's a good sign that she likes you... alot ;P maybe try asking her out to dinner now and then, friends can enjoy dinners together, and the more awkward silence probably is a good sign that you both feel the same about each other, but don't try to push it, just chat like normal, being comfortable around each other is immportant too, but if she does get shy now and then ;P try asking her out for anything, a movie at the theater, or at your home ;P either way i hope i helped.

No chance. You pretty much doomed all hope when you became her "buddy". The only way I see it is to catch her offguard and hope for the best. You know, like do something corney like out of a movie and just profess your burning love for her.

Look her strait in the eyes and say would you like to go on a date. If she laughs then you are her friend. If not there might be hope.

Just plain ask her. If she is interested she''ll let you know. Just remember if she want's ya, you get a girfriend and if she don't you still have a good freind to hang with.

Most girls don't see guy friends as being boyfriends. I know that I do really like my guy friends but can never see myself dating them.

well first of all... i think if you like her that much.. hangout . and when you get the guts to tell her.. tell her that you like her.
and that you want to take her out on a date.
she eithier says yes. or she says no that you two should just be friends.. and it won't hurt to try.. do you know what i mean?

Mention it to her that you like her. Don't ask for an immediate answer for going on a date. Who knows, mayber she likes you too but is too afraid to tell you.
