Like frisbees and balls?

It might take longer or shorter, depending on the individual dog. Just throw the frisbee/ball out, and he/she will go get it, but then he/she probably won't come back to you. So you need to call his/her name, and say "Come here!" , etc, and if he/she still doesn't come after a long time, go over there and get the frisbee/ball from him/her. After a while, your dog will gradually learn. It takes time and lots of practice to train your dog!

The best way I know of for a frisbee is to use it as the dogs food dish for a few days. Throw it and see if he chases it. When he does give him a reward (like a treat, make sure it is something your dog loves, I prefer chopped up hot dogs since they don't get that very much). when he brings it to you, give him a treat and praise him. With a ball throw it and when he gets it praise him well, call him to you and when he comes give him more praise and a treat. Soon he will get the idea and really start enjoying the game so there will be no more need for treats. I used the ball method for my Lab mix and she got it within a few days. I only spent about 10 min a day working on fetch. You don't want to over stimulate the dog.

Tie a long rope to the collar of your puppy. Play tug-o-war with the frisbee to get him interested, then toss is a couple of feet. When he picks it up in his mouth, say "Fetch" and call him to you - pull on the rope a little if necessary. If he drops the item, go put it in his mouth, walk away a couple of steps and call him again. You'll have to do this several times, but the first time he actually brings it to you, praise him a lot, give him a treat and a big rub-down. Once he has this idea, then you need to add the "drop" command to make sure he lets go of the item at your feet.

Puppies have short attention spans, so only work with him for 15 to 30 minutes at a time - you can tell when his attention wanders. Then wait a bit and try again.

Well... use a good sized ball (or its fav. toy) and get them used to it like in ur hand or close to him on the ground and let him sniff it. if u think he likes it then give the ball a little toss not to far away or he will just turn around and find something else to do. if he gets it call to him and give him encouragement(ex."come on boy""u can do it",etc.)(don't forget the head rub!) then throw it a little further.and keep going.Give him a head rub and a treat after each time so he knows he did the right thing. If he doesn't get it the first time (when u do the little throw) u might of thrown it to far if this happens just get it ur self and throw it again NEVER PUNISH HIM!!!.REMEMBER ONLY DO A LITTLE A DAY DON'T PUSH HIM (like 5 throws a day or even 15min, that will give him a chance to sink all of this in(what ever time is best for ur dog)).TAKE UR TIME DON'T RUSH. Once he masters it, Then u move on to frizbes its all the same.

well, @ 1st, just work with him/her 4 only about 5 min. @ a time. then be specific about what u want him/her 2 do. ( use only 1 word like plain ole' fetch, and don't try 2 teach him/ her any other tricks till he/she gets this 1 down completely.) then, after he/she understands wat u want him/her 2 do, reward him/her with treats, but not big ones. ( mabey about the size of a piece of dry dog food.) good luck! p.s. make sure u give ur puppy lots of praise, and DON'T EVER punish him . he's just learning, and u want 2 make it a fun experience 4 him. have fun!

first, teach them to come when you call. find a toy that they love, and when they come to get it, call their name. gradually move to coming to you without the toy just the name. take the same toy that they love. throw it, they'll go after it. once they have it, call them to you. don't forget lots of yummy rewards!
