What does Christian scripture have to do with laws for everyone in the US?

Well, have visited many orphanages, i even support a few of them with all the help i can offer. Orphanages work somewhat like families, the older kids take a little care of the younger kids, the workers are like the parents of the kids, they all grow up together in a nice environment.

If gay people would get married, they will soon also start to wanna adopt kids. That would mean the orphanages will get more and more empty. That can, of course, never be a good thing.

We should protect the sanctity of orphanages!

It wouldn't. If some straight couples family falls apart... it is THEIR Fault. Not the gay couple down the street.

And, you're right. Marriage is NOT a Christian Institution! People were getting married Loooong before Christianity came around. And they did so without the Jewish religion as well.

I really wish some of these people would pick up a history book and actually Read it.

Imagine if you had 2 dads and you went to the local high school.

You're ******.

Imagine if little boys starting kissing and sexually touching each other on the playground because their daddies do it...

??

Imagine two men trying to raise a child... haven't you seen those movies where guys try to raise kids and they get in all kinds of trouble...?

MARRIAGE IS A CHRISTIAN INSTITUTION AND THE BIBLE SAYS THAT GAYS CANNOT BE MARRIED...

so if you perverts want rights to visit in the hospitals or be the next-of-kin than I really don't care and I don't think anyone does, but you will have to find some other thing to call yourself than 'married" because the bible says no and that's that.

proudmatriarch, you are a good person and I admire you very much. I would advise you take a look at qwert *'s other activities on Y!A by clicking on the avatar before you choose to side yourself with this person.

I have very little else to say in answer to this, because I try to focus on the positive and ignore the people who are determined to drag this great world we have into the cesspool of petty hatred.

I celebrated my fourth wedding anniversary yesterday. Somehow we have gotten this far without our marriage being broken apart by the existence of gay marriage. But I don't know. Maybe we're an exception... :)

In spite of all the confusing rhetoric, Scripture clearly classifies homosexuality as sin. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10. Can the truth be any plainer?

While this may sound harsh, it is not intended to be offensive. God is not making a singular thrust against homosexuals. Notice that many other sins are listed in this lineup. In fact, the first and third in the list are primarily directed at heterosexuals.

As a group, homosexuals are undeniably sexually immoral. Not only is the practice of homosexuality itself an immoral act, but 43 percent of homosexuals surveyed estimated they had sex with 500 or more partners; 28 percent reported 1,000 or more partners. And 79 percent admit that over half of their partners were total strangers.9 Furthermore, two homosexual researchers writing in The Gay Report say that 73 percent of homosexuals surveyed had at some time had sex with boys sixteen to nineteen years of age or younger.10

In light of current events, we might wonder how far things will digress. Certainly, in all this confusion there is a call to seek God. While we should love sinners and help them find peace and eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, we must not fall prey to the falsehoods of homosexual activists. The Bible clearly defines homosexuality as sin. Let's compassionately lead homosexuals into a saving relationship with Jesus while steadfastly maintaining the truths of God's Word.

For those of us who believe the Bible.
1st Corinthians 6:9

For those who do not. The natural order of life commands that we pair as a woman and a man. If everyone were gay. Humanity would die off in one generation.

Even the animals know better than that.

I know many will say different, but studies have shown that children with a Mother and Father are more stable than those of 2 same sex partners.

Well... in my opinion ( and I am on my soap box) It sends the message to the children that there is no need for the opposite sex...which is wrong! To have a family (parents and kids) you need a man and a woman. 2 men cannot create kids and neither can 2 women. A man needs a woman and a woman needs a man if they are desiring to create a family! * just my opinion*

If you allow gay people to marry then people will want to marry their dog, or polygamy, or their teddy bear. I don't know. I think that unions should be allowed among consenting adults. My mom in law says the the thing about polygamy and animals, i added the teddy bear.

It wouldn't. Homosexuals are raised with the same social morals as heterosexuals and would pass those values onto their children. It is now the 21st century, one would suppose we as a culture would be able to put discrimination and prejudice to rest by now.

It wouldn't.

I would still be just as married, just as happy, just as Christian and my family would still have the exact same values that we did the day before.

Once gay marriage was possible, conservatives would be so tempted by it that they would all go out and divorce their spouses and enter the terrible hellish but irresistable world of homosexual sex.
