In most people there's a part of your brain that paralyses you when you're sleeping, this doesn't happen in sleepwalkers. The worst thing is the embarassment when you wake up not in your bed. But don't worry, I grew out of the worst of it, it's much less common now and was mostly bad when I had a temperature.

it is half and haalf
some people think it is not normal for kds to be sleepwalking. For some reason, this is a psychological thing. I think somewhere in the brain is where the mind suddenly sends signal to the muscles that is actually in the dream. So in fact, while in sleep, he is actually experiencing some kind of psychological conformity and that is causing it. But i dont know for sure. However, these things can be associated with real life issues, probably something in school or at home. Talk to him

Never let anyone tell you "DON'T WORRY"!! I am going through a sleep study right now and I have learned that "sleepwalkers can do anything from just minor things up to actually killing someone!!Definately keep an eye on him and if it progresses at all please get a sleep study done on him .All they do is put him in a hospital room overnight and do a nightime and a day nap test. They hook wires up to him while he sleeps and monitors his sleep. It's harmless and very helpful!! Good luck!! If it helps go to web md and research sleepwalking yourself..

Could be that he has a few things going on with him... Nothing you can really do to stop it... Just try to find a way to deal with it...
Eventually he'll stop... I had the same thing with my son... He is only 3... after 3 weeks of sleepwalking, he suddenly stopped...

no one knows.
when asleep a little switch in the brain that controls muscle movement is supposed to turn off so we don't act out our dreams. but for some reason in sleep walkers it just doens't
occasionally it can be something psychological, but i doubt that is the case in a 7 year old.
it has been known to occur in children and can be something they just grow out of.

an overactove subconciouss i should imagine, so that when he goes to sleep he is not going into a deep enough sleep, has something changed or is something bothering him that might be preventing this from happening? if so reolsve this and the problem will resolve in time.

I do this, when I'm very tired when I go to bed. Try not to wait to go to sleep when you are tired, or maybe you could take a short nap in the middle of the day.
