During the development of the breed, eye color was not a concern -- it has no bearing on whether or not the dog could do its job (pull a sled), and therefore was never factored into breeding decisions.
Because of this, and some genetic variation, different eye colors became equally common in the Siberian Husky, as did combinations such as two different colored eyes in the same dog ("bi-eyes"), and even two different colors in the same eye ("split-eyes", or "parti-eyes")!
All Siberian eye colors are basically either blue or brown. Because of different coat color/pigment associations (a polygenetic trait), lighter shades of brown and blue can and do exist, and appear as amber, or even greenish.
Hope this helps!

? Eh? Do you mean different from dog to dog, or one a color and the other a different color? Both are due to genetics of course. But if yer thinkin all siberian huskies have 2 colors for their eyes, I can dispell the misconception. Had sib huskies growing up. (as pets, not children for the smart-alec's)

Often they have one blue and one brown or yellow. Sometimes both are one or the other. Wolve's and Huskies have light eyes to reduce the trauma of snowblindness to their eyes. They have better vision than a brown eyed dog on a bright snowy day,
the dark brown eyes of most dogs, enables them to have better distance vision, and night vision.

not all do actually, my siberian husky was not born with the stereotype blue/brown eyes. she has two brown eyes, however an extremely beautiful dog nonetheless.
