I got a new sound card but it still acts up.

I mean I got a new sound card cuz' the volume was keep shutting off.

Since you replaced the sound card it might not be drivers.

In the syatem tray is an icon that looks like an ear. At least I think so. Click on that and see if any of the items have the "mute" checked. If so, uncheck, reboot and check it again.

If it reverts to the old setting after re-boot, you may have to spend the money and have a pro look at it.

Step 1 for troubleshooting all computer issues: Make sure your virus scanner is up to date and you have scanned for spyware.
Then look into updating the sound card drivers. Go to the Mfr. web site to get the latest ones. Usually ones included with the hardware are out of date.

make sure that you load a the driver from the new sound card. If you dont have it, you can still found it online. Also, try to run windows updates, sometimes that fix your problems.

Take XP off your computer and Install Linux.
