I am a firm believer in the fact that each of us mature at different levels. So no "your too young" speeches here. I do not know you well enough to form that opinion. However, for your sake and the sake of your love interest.... Discuss this with your mother openly. If at first she strongly opposes perhaps you can suggest that he come to your home a few times first until your mother feels more comfortable. You are here baby, that never changes. She will always want to protect you. But perhaps if this guy is as great as you feel he is.... once she gets to know him she will think so too. Good luck. (btw I am 29yrs old so I am not one of your peers just agreeing with you) I had a relationship around your age with an older guy. My parents actually were heartbroken when I broke up with him . He was a great guy but it was a long distance relationship and didn't work out. So I am talking from experience.
