Besides registering to vote in your new locality, a driver's license is the most logical form of ID. You need a state-issued ID to do almost anything - starting a new job, boarding a plane, going drinking, etc. So if you are going to get an ID, you may as well get a driver's license so you can drive legally.

#1 its the Law
#2 Laws in each state differ, and your license is only issued from the state you moved from not the current state you live in.
#3. Your insurance costs may go up since you are driving in another state, and if you get in an accident - good luck.

I know what you mean. What you were supposed to do before you left the other state was go to DMV and tell them you lost your licence. Pay to get a second one. This way, when you went to the new state, you could turn in your extra licence and get one from that state. Leaving you with a licence from both states.
That's what I did in NY, GA and now CA!lol

most states require it within 90 days of relocating-unless ou are in the military, then you can keep your license as (along with your residency) from that state for as long as you wish.
The reason is that the state wants to have a record of you if you are a resident.

Each state has their own license, either you comply with the law, or go back to where you came from, then you wont have to change it!

Because you'll want to have a driver's license to remember what your face looked like BEFORE I beat your *** for slamming your car into mine.
YOU WANT SOME? YOU WANT SOME?
No, mom, I can TOO say "beat your ***", he says he's going to run into my car and he doesn't have a license and doesnt have insurance either.
OK, mom says I can say that.
